More about synchronization rights licensing Because Bands of America chooses to record and distribute video products of performances by participating bands at BOA fall events, it must obtain synchronization rights (the right to pair moving images to music) from the owners of the music used in participant’s shows. This is a different right and often has different standards and decision makers than the “permission to arrange” rights obtained by participants. As such, some programs recorded and distributed by BOA may be edited and/or unavailable, due to our inability to obtain rights or rights at a rate consistent with our royalty rate parameters.
