More about synchronization rights licensing

Because Bands of America chooses to record and distribute video products of

performances by participating bands at BOA fall events, it must obtain

synchronization rights (the right to pair moving images to music) from the

owners of the music used in participant’s shows.  This is a different right and

often has different standards and decision makers than the “permission to

arrange” rights obtained by participants.  As such, some programs recorded and

distributed by BOA may be edited and/or unavailable, due to our inability to

obtain rights or rights at a rate consistent with our royalty rate parameters. To
